Enköping to lake Näsnaren
After raiding the breakfast buffet of our accomodation in Enköping, we set off for our first full day of riding. The first leg of the day brought us to Västeras and into one of the few rain showers we would encounter on this trip. Two things stick in my mind from Västeras: Firstly how we could not have known that the biggest muscle car convention ever was going on in town and secondly how absurd the view of teenagers lifting weights in a parking lot in the rain was.
With all our supplies restocked at the local ICA (one of two main supermarket chains in Sweden) and the heavens clearing up we headed south on gravel and footpaths until we reached Hjälmaresund.
With 110 km done we could have called it a day and setup camp but that one lake further along the route looked just too inviting - so we clipped in again for another 90 km (making this the longest day of the trip). Upon arrival after more than eight hours of riding we did find that lake with the perfect camping spot on its shore.
However we also found the most redneck folks imaginable ready for a night of drinking. After a bit of discussion we decided to search for a more peaceful spot which luckily was right around the corner.
